Source of renewable energies
Hybrid thermal photovoltaic collectors are an alternative to separately installed photovoltaic modules and thermal collectors.
The Hybrid Photovoltaic Thermal (PVT) collector is a module that produces not only electricity but also thermal energy. Since the demand for solar heat and solar electricity often complement each other, it seems a logical idea to develop a device that can meet both demands. In addition to all this, the temperature of the photovoltaic collectors can be lowered by extracting heat with the help of an adequate circulation of a fluid and thus the electrical conversion efficiency will be increased.
Several new hybrid sensor configurations are studied and produced based on criteria of simplicity and cost (galvanized or aluminum materials instead of copper). The realization of these configurations is focused on models in one and more dimensions. These configurations are tested experimentally through the prototypes produced.
